Trauma and related symptoms including PTSD and complex PTSD
Self-esteem issues and limiting core beliefs
Chronic illness, chronic pain, sleep issues and eating disorders
Addiction
Relationship issues
Depression
Issues arising from a changing sense of self or an awakening process
Types of therapy
-

Psychotherapy
For trauma and trauma-related symptoms, I primarily use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process distressing memories so they become less triggering and easier to live with. I integrate other trauma-informed approaches where helpful, including the Flash Technique, EFT, CBT, hypnotherapy, and parts-based inquiry.
For some clients, especially when memories feel too overwhelming to approach directly, I may also use the Flash Technique. Flash is a minimally intrusive, evidence-based method that can reduce the distress associated with painful memories without requiring detailed discussion of the trauma. It can be used to support EMDR preparation, or as an alternative approach in its own right, depending on what best fits your needs and pace.

Parts therapy
Parts-oriented therapy is a powerful way to work with the different aspects of us that hold emotions, beliefs, protective strategies, and trauma. These “parts” often developed for good reasons, but can become stuck in patterns that are no longer helping, or limit your sense of wellbeing and relationship. Drawing on approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Ego State Therapy, parts work helps you build a compassionate relationship with your inner world, gently process traumatic material, and support lasting change. For many clients, this therapy offers a powerful way to heal significant patterns and core issues.

Counselling
Counselling creates a therapeutic space of trust between the client and therapist that holds acceptance of where you are now. Using a person-centred approach, and a variety of psychotherapies, we can look at any aspect of your life that you feel needs attention or resolution. This therapeutic approach can yield significant clarity and resolution of long standing issues.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy uses a combination of hypnosis and therapy to work with the unconscious aspects of the mind. As we come into a state of deep relaxation, the conscious mind relaxes, bringing the unconscious into the foreground to allow access to thinking, emotions or behavioural patterns at a deeper level.
Clinical hypnotherapy has had great success for many issues, including anxiety, stress, depression, smoking, weight loss, phobias, PTSD, insomnia, IBS, and pain control.
About
John Windschuttle - Therapist
Since 2012, teaching meditation has shown me the quiet power of stillness and awareness to ease stress and support wellbeing. Over time, I also came to see how essential it is to release unresolved trauma and entrenched emotional patterns for genuine, lasting wellbeing. Becoming a psychotherapist and counsellor has enabled me to help clients work through these deeper layers and move toward greater clarity, presence, and a more authentic way of living.
