Psychotherapy and Counselling
When we release long standing trauma, unhelpful patterns or resolve difficult emotions and thoughts, life becomes more fulfilling with greater clarity, freedom and genuine wellbeing.
Utilising psychotherapy and counselling techniques, I help clients with the following issues:
Generalised anxiety and social anxiety.
Trauma and related symptoms including PTSD and complex PTSD
Self-esteem issues and limiting core beliefs
Chronic illness, chronic pain, sleep issues and eating disorders
Addiction
Relationship issues
Depression
Issues arising from a changing sense of self or an awakening process
Types of therapy
-
Psychotherapy
For working with trauma, or difficult emotions and thoughts, I use a variety of psychotherapy techniques including the Flash technique, EMDR, EFT, CBT, Deep Looking and Hypnotherapy. For processing trauma or trauma related symptoms, the Flash Technique is an evidence based, minimally intrusive therapy that does not require the client to consciously engage with memories associated with trauma. Originally created for the preparation stage of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing) the Flash Technique is now used as an alternative to EMDR to significantly reduce the disturbance level associated with severely painful memories and trauma, often in a single session.

Deep Looking
Deep Looking is a powerful psychotherapy created by non duality teacher Ilona Ciunaite. Initially drawing upon the work of Pamela Wilson and Sedona therapy, Deep Looking works with inner parts, core beliefs, significant trauma, psychological or emotional patterns, helping them release, repair and realign. With similarities to other parts-orientated therapies such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Ego State Therapy or Resource Therapy, Deep Looking goes much further. For the right client, Deep Looking is my preferred psychotherapy given it’s potential for transformational change and healing. It is also an important tool for assisting those in an awakening process.

Counselling
Counselling creates a therapeutic space of trust between the client and therapist that holds acceptance of where you are now. Using a person-centred approach, and a variety of psychotherapies, we can look at any aspect of your life that you feel needs attention or resolution. This therapeutic approach can yield significant clarity and resolution of long standing issues.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy uses a combination of hypnosis and therapy to work with the unconscious aspects of the mind. As we come into a state of deep relaxation, the conscious mind relaxes, bringing the unconscious into the foreground to allow access to thinking, emotions or behavioural patterns at a deeper level.
Clinical hypnotherapy has had great success for many issues, including anxiety, stress, depression, smoking, weight loss, phobias, PTSD, insomnia, IBS, and pain control.
About
John Windschuttle - Therapist
Beginning in 2012 I taught meditation to help others release stress, and generate an inner sense of calmness and well being. While meditation can be transformational tool, I noticed many students were unable to move past certain traumas, or mental/emotional patterns. I became a psychotherapist and counsellor to help clients resolve these challenges and come into a clearer and more authentic version of themselves.
